Gardens

What do you need to plan a garden?

What are you going to plant in your garden? Do you love flowers? Do you want fresh vegetables that you can harvest from your yard? Would you like to help keep bees healthy on our planet? Would you like a water feature like a pond or a waterfall that might attract water fowl?

Just like for a building, you can make a planting plan. You can help develop it by using the color of plant leaves and/or the color of flowers to segment your garden.

Another indicator of where you can place something is the average height of each plant, so that none of your plant groupings hide the other ones. That is unless you are inspired by the children’s book called The Secret Garden.

The plants on this poster will make the pollinators in your garden happy. They might even bring in some new creatures.
